Site work for a municipal facility in Seabrook, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a municipal facility.
Replacement of Electrical Infrastructure-Bayport Terminal This project consists of connecting the 480-Volt side of transformer A to an existing switchboard located inside the Central Plant Building at Bayport Container Terminal by means of a new set of DLO cables with equivalent ampacity. The original connection was made with a 4,000 amp busduct. The original switchboard has vertical and horizontal constraints which limit traditional cable routing and connections. Therefore, a junction box shall be designed and fabricated for the connection point of the switchboard to accept traditional cabling. An elevated support pathway shall be created to extend through the building and out to the transformer. See attached pictures for reference. All work and equipment are within a 60-ft diameter footprint in a restricted area of the terminal. All employees and sub-contractors must possess a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card while working on the project. Otherwise, a foreman with escort privileges shall supervise/monitor all workers without TWIC while in secure area. The switchboard supplies power to the Administration Building including HVAC system and server room and is housed in a masonry building with space heating. Penetration through the wall exists for the original busduct and may need to be widened or a new penetration created to accommodate the new cabling connecting the transformer and switchboard. Additionally, an elevated pathway shall be installed to support cable tray.
