This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Peekskill, New York. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

The City of Peekskill, NY is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to provide preliminary traffic planning services for its "Broad Street Complete Street" project. Broad Street is a minor arterial street in downtown Peekskill serving more than 10,000 daily vehicles. Broad Street is a high-injury network, with forty-three vehicle accidents in 2023 to date. Multiple pedestrian and cyclist injuries have resulted from collisions with vehicles on or near Broad Street. These planning services will strengthen the project's eligibility for competitive implementation grant funding. If construction is funded, the project will implement USDOT-recommended countermeasures such as medians to reduce pedestrian crossing distances, dedicated lanes for cyclists and transit, and new landscaping to reduce impervious surfaces. The Project will align with the goals of a recent NYS-funded Northern Westchester East-West Corridor Study. Contract term: 4-6 weeks Please submit any questions about this RFP by Friday, December 8, to Peter Erwin at (914) 734-8417 or perwin@cityofpeekskill.com. This RFP and answers to submitted questions can be found online. Responses will be provided on the City website by Monday, December 11, 2023. The City of Peekskill is not responsible for any failure in the delivery of an inquiry The total budget for these Planning services is $28,000. The City seeks a consultant with the most relevant experience and offering the most extensive services for $28,000. The proposed scope of work is to analyze the potential safety and economic benefits of the Project using established USDOT methods. Then, the consultant should recommend specific measures to achieve such benefits and provide a limited set of conceptual designs using aerial images (no survey will be required). The City seeks conceptual designs for: (1) Broad Street from the intersection of Maple Avenue to the intersection of Crompond Road, (2) the intersection of Broad Street and East Main Street, and/or (3) a typical roadway segment showing the proposed allocation of space to various uses The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
