The work consists of clearing and grubbing, placing sand fill, installation of vertical wick drains and horizontal strip drains, installing high strength geotextile, compacted clay embankment, construction of temporary bypass road, driving steel sheet pile cutoff, driving steel pipe piles, constructing reinforced concrete T-type floodwalls, fabricating and installing a structural steel roller gate at Highway 51, installing pipe sleeves through steel sheetpiling, constructing access road along protected side of levee, regrading asphaltic highway, fertilizing, seeding and mulching levee embankment and all other work incidental thereto..
