The City of Cedar Hill is requesting proposals for Professional Design Services to prepare the City's Parks, Recreation, Trails, and Open Space Master Plan. The desired deliverable is a strategic, comprehensive Master Plan Update that addresses citizen needs and further enhances Cedar Hill as a place where people are proud to live, work, play, invest, and engage in the community. The following sections describe the project and required professional services as well as provide instructions for preparing and submitting a statement of qualifications. Known for its tree-lined rolling hills and wide-open green spaces, Cedar Hill, Texas is the natural choice for those who want big city amenities with small town charm. Cedar Hill is located in both Dallas and Ellis Counties, with a current population of 49,148 and a total land area of 36 square miles. The Parks and Recreation system includes 33 Neighborhood and Community Parks, a Recreation Center, a Senior Activity Center, a new Outdoor Community Pool, more than 36 miles of trails, and over 3,000 acres of open space and nature preserves maintained through strategic partnerships. The scope of services listed below is not intended to be a comprehensive list of what the Consultant will provide. The final scope of services will be developed in collaboration with the selected Consultant. Multiple respondents may be selected to cover the needs of the participants. A 9- to 12-month project schedule is anticipated. Project milestones will be developed during scope and proposal submittals after consultant selection.
