The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the project with prospective offerors and to answer any questions concerning RFP 23-65. Any questions and answers furnished in the pre-proposal meeting will not be official until verified in writing through an addendum. Written Question Deadline November 30, 2023, 2:00 p.m. This RFP is being solicited by the City of Ann Arbor's (City) Office of Sustainability and Innovations (OSI). OSI is seeking a Firm to assist the City in investigating the feasibility of expanding geothermal adoption, inclusive of district geothermal, in Ann Arbor. The scope of this work includes three tasks: 1) Technical Advisory Services. Act as a technical advisor to the City and identified governmental partners related to specific geothermal projects or specific geothermal questions; 2) Owner's Agent Services. Serve as an Owner's Agent to assist the City in investigating specific geothermal expansion opportunities, challenges, and general growth trajectories, and specifically to provide on-demand support for identified projects; and 3) Evaluation Services. Complete an evaluation of the technical feasibility of creating district geothermal systems and/or thermal energy networks throughout the City, or if that is not feasible, in portions of the City. This will be used to assist the City with determining if it should consider taking actions to facilitate access to such systems for residents and businesses, including but not limited to granting a franchise or establishing a utility to offer such services. OSI is seeking a Firm with demonstrated technical expertise on the design, operation, and regulatory landscape of district geothermal and thermal energy network systems to perform this work. The Firm will work closely with OSI staff and members of the City's Public Services team in the execution of these tasks.
