Reference Number 0000260782 Question Acceptance Deadline 2023/12/10 11:00:00 AM CST Pricing Lump sum The Municipality of Louise is inviting proposals from contractors for hauling and depositing approximately 32,000 yards of crushed or screened gravel on designated municipal roads for the 2024 road resurfacing season. The successful contractor must: Provide at least three (3) tri-axle gravel trucks with centre dump trailers (minimum of one (1) trailer that closes under load) with twenty (20) yard load haul capacities Be available for return hauling and depositing of top-up supply on designated roads within 2 weeks of notification from the Municipality of Louise Rural Public Works Foreman. Provide proof of workers compensation insurance. The contractor shall be registered and be in good standing with the Workers Compensation Board. Provide for and maintain, at its own expense, General Liability Insurance Provide for and maintain, at its own expense, Automobile Liability Insurance Sign and execute an Independent Contractor Agreement with the Municipality of Louise Prices quoted shall be gross process including, but not limited to, all applicable duty, fuel, freight, cartage, Federal and Provincial Taxes, and all other items incidental to complete the contract, except Goods and Services Tax (GST) which shall be extra where applicable. The Municipality has approximately 360 miles of gravel roads. All hauling distances are to be calculated by the shortest direct haul from the stockpile to the destination, unless otherwise approved by the municipality. It is strongly encouraged to haul as much as possible down the adjacent highways. . Haul loads are based on 20 cubic yards per trailer based on 2500 lbs per yard. The gravel is to be deposited at varying rates of 100 - 180 yards per mile, on or about 1 June to 31 August in 2024. The Municipality will supply the crushed gravel material (pit location to be confirmed, upto 32,000 yards) The crushed gravel to be loaded by the pit owner. . The crushed gravel will require scaling during the first week of hauling from the pit. One (1) full round will be scaled at an independent scale. The contractor will be reimbursed for the extra mileage. The crushed gravel may be scaled throughout the hauling season at an independent scale, on the request of the municipality. The contractor will be reimbursed for the extra mileage. . Average haul is approximately 20 miles. The successful bidder is responsible for maintaining gravel cards and reports as supplied by the municipality. Placement of material on designated roads is to be reported to the municipal public works employees on a weekly basis. The Municipality will authorize payment for services performed in the previous period once the reports are reviewed and upon submission of a bi-weekly invoice. The preferred hours of operation are Monday to Saturday between 7:00 am. to 7:00 pm., with no depositing of gravel to take place on Sunday or statutory holidays.
