Research investigators will use state-of-art technologies including microscopy, genomics, bioinformatics, molecular and cellular technologies, which will allow a deeper understanding of the processes that go awry leading to devasting diseases and conditions. The studies that will be conducted in the new building will also allow the development of therapeutics for human cancers and neurological and aging-associated diseases. The Science One Building is a key component of the Research Capital Expansion plan for the Greehey Campus. This expansion plan includes the addition of the Center for Brain Health, the Central Energy Plant and vivarium expansion, and a parking garage. The project is located on the north side of the property. As of August 23, 2024 the bid has been issued.
