Renovation of an educational facility in Linden, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 12,430-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility.

If on this date the Linden Public School District is closed to all students and all staff or has an early dismissal due to weather or any other emergency that closes all schools and offices for all students and all staff prior to 11:30am, bids will be due at 11:30am on the next day that the school district is open. Any bidder requiring documents to be shipped shall make arrangements with the printer and pay for all packaging and shipping costs. Bids must be made on the standard proposal form in the manner designated therein and as required by the Specifications to be enclosed in sealed opaque envelopes bearing the name of the project: "Linden Public School District - School No. 8 UV Replacement", and the name and address of the bidder on the outside of the envelope, addressed to: "John Serapiglia, Business Administrator, Linden Public School District". The school district is not responsible for bids opened prior to the bid opening if bid name and opening date do not appear on the envelope. Bids opened prior to the due date and time indicated are invalid. The bidder assumes the risk of any delay in the mail or in the handling of the mail by employees of Linden Public School District, as well as of improper hand delivery. Each proposal submitted must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, made payable to the "Linden Public School District", in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, as a commitment by the bidder that, if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a contract to perform the work and will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Certification of bonding company is required for this bid, see Instructions for Bidders. Each bidder shall agree to hold his/her bid price for forty-five (45) days after the formal bid opening. Last day to submit RFI's to be answered is Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 12:00pm. Addenda, if needed, will be issued on Friday, January 5, 2024. Although the pre-bid meeting and walk-thru are not mandatory, it is highly recommended that all potential bidders make arrangements to visit the sites. It is the Board's intention to award the contract to the lowest qualified bidder in compliance with the specifications providing the required security who can meet the experience, technical and budget requirements. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informality and to accept such bid which, in the opinion of the Board, is in the best interests of the School District. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to the maximum extent of its lawful discretion. Bidders and/or its subcontractors must be qualified by the Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC), pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-27 through 33, and shall submit with their bids a Pre-qualification Affidavit, a copy of a valid and active NOTICE OF CLASSIFICATION, and a certified copy of a Total Amount of Uncompleted Contracts Form. Each bidder must possess one or more of the following DPMC Classifications: C008 or C009 or C032. Each bidder must also possess or utilize subcontractors who possess the following DPMC classifications: C008 or C009 and C032. The Owner reserves the right to reject all bids and waive any minor informality in the bidding process in accordance with the law, N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-22, if it is in the best interest of the Owner. The Contract, if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements. No bid shall be deemed accepted until the adoption of a formal resolution by the Owner.
