The City of Sausalito is seeking contract Construction Management and Inspection Services for its 2023 Pavement Improvement Project. The project is located on Edwards St. and includes sanitary sewer and pavement rehabilitation. City's Reservation of Rights. Neither the issuance of this RFP nor the acceptance of Proposals commits the City to award or enter into any agreement with a Proposer. The City reserves the unfettered right to reject any or all Proposals, at any time, and to seek new Proposals when in the best interest of the City. The City reserves the right to cancel, modify, or postpone this RFP or the Project, at any time, and to waive any irregularities or informalities in any RFP procedures. Each Proposer is solely responsible for the expenses it incurs to respond to this RFP. City expressly disclaims responsibility for any assumptions a Proposer might draw from the presence or absence of information provided by the City in any form. The scope of services for the Agreement shall include but not be limited to the following: Construction Management and Inspection - Conduct construction management and inspection for the Project. The Consultant shall appoint a Construction Manager to be the City's primary point-of-contact and be responsible for all work under this agreement. The Construction Manager ("CM") shall attend all meetings and briefings designated by the City. The CM will be available to the City in order to report on activities and schedules, address and resolve problems, and discuss progress related to the Project. The CM will manage trained crews to observe, and document the construction activities. The Consultant will provide project inspection services that will insure contractor compliance with applicable codes/regulations, construction drawings, specifications and quality control required by the contract documents. Inspector shall issue correction notices, Notices of Non-Compliance (as required) and notify, along with the CM, the City in writing if work does not conform to contract documents. Together with the CM the inspector shall monitor the progress of the Project, report issues to the City when required, and coordinate with the contractor to ensure that inspections are carried out as needed. The CM and Inspector shall maintain and submit daily diaries, note where work is occurring, progress status, manpower assigned by contractor, weather conditions, equipment and materials delivered, construction equipment, vehicles and materials, assist in communication to clarify work as maybe needed, note occurrences or conditions that might affect contract costs or schedule, keep track of visitors, record any work or material in place that does not correspond with the contract documents as well as resulting action(s) taken, list any other problems or abnormal occurrences that arise during each day, lack of activity on the part of the contractor and note corrective actions taken. No oral statements by any City employee or representative will be binding against the City.
