Post-Fire Recovery and Rebuilding Assistance, Department of Public Works, Development Services Administration. The County is seeking proposals from responsible, qualified and experienced firms to assist with permitting procedures associated with recovery and rebuilding efforts, specifically to include review of applicable standards, permit review and inspection services for compliance with building and other associated regulations, and associated communication and outreach services to inform the public on processes and procedures. The County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals. Further, the County reserves the right to review the financial condition of those submitting proposals and may request a financial statement. Failure to comply with the requirements of this RFP shall result in the rejection of the proposal. Proposals will be reviewed, and those firms whose proposals most appropriately meet the County of Maui's needs will be considered. The firm must establish and operate a post disaster recovery rebuild office which offers the full range of building and planning services to residents, contractors, and developers needed for reconstruction of the disaster area. Qualified firms should provide their assessment of services needed to rebuild a community after a major disaster. Qualified firms must also demonstrate their ability to remain flexible to provide services based on need at any particular moment. The following provides a detailed scope of the services needed.
