The work consists of dredging modifications within the Brunswick Inner Harbor to improve navigation, including expansion of the Cedar Hammock Range bend widener and the turning basin at Colonel's Island Terminal. The Cedar Hammock Range bend widener, located between stations 20+300 and 23+300, will be expanded on the north side by up to approximately 321 feet over a length of about 2,700 feet and dredged to a depth of -38 feet, which includes 2 feet of allowable overdepth. An estimated 205,000 cubic yards of dredged material will be removed as part of this effort and placed at a designated Beneficial Use site at Jekyll Island. In addition, the project includes expansion of the turning basin at Colonel's Island Terminal along approximately 4,100 feet of the South Brunswick River, between stations 0+900 and 5+300. This work will increase the basin width by up to approximately 395 feet and dredge the area to a depth of -38 feet, including allowable overdepth. Approximately 346,000 cubic yards of dredged material is anticipated to be removed from the turning basin expansion and placed at the Andrew's Island Dredged Material Containment Area. The project will be executed as an unrestricted, firm fixed-price construction contract under an invitation for bids procurement method. The magnitude of this requirement per DFARS 236.204(i) is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.
