Site work for a transportation facility in Denver, Colorado. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.

https://www.constructiondive.com/news/krische-construction-denver-rail-project/712003/ Award: Phase 1 of the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project Value: Unknown, entire project is $152 million Location: Denver Client: Regional Transportation District-Denver Longmont, Colorado-based Krische Construction has been tapped to reconstruct five light rail intersections in downtown Denver, the Regional Transportation District-Denver announced on March 27. Much of the existing downtown track infrastructure, commonly referred to as the Downtown Loop, has been in place since the line was first built in 1994, according to RTD's website. The agency is doing a $152 million, full-depth reconstruction of this section of rail in order to improve safety and mobility and address deteriorating infrastructure. The process involves removing all current rail infrastructure, concrete, ties and ballast and remediating the drains below each segment before crews fully rebuild the structures, according to the agency. Work will occur in four phases, with the first phase starting in May on five segments of track at street intersections in the Downtown Loop. Phases two through four of the project will occur in 2025. RTD also selected Denver-headquartered Triunity Engineering for project management support and consultant services. Both Krische Construction and Triunity have experience on civil projects in the area, according to the agency. In recent years RTD performed 17 isolated projects in the central corridor to replace sections of curved rail, switches, crossings, signals and other rail infrastructure, but the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project is the first comprehensive rebuild in agency history. _______________________________________________ https://www.bizjournals.com/denver/news/2024/02/28/rtd-152-million-reconstruction.html The Regional Transportation District is embarking on a $152 million project to reconstruct miles of light rail track in downtown Denver. RTD said the first phase of the project will start in May. "This major reconstruction project is the first of its kind in RTD's history," RTD said in a news release. "Between 2012 and 2023, RTD undertook 17 isolated projects in the central corridor to replace sections of curved rail, switches, crossings, signals and other rail infrastructure. The project will leverage previous work done by RTD with time-specific closures to minimize the inconvenience to customers." _________________________________ https://www.9news.com/article/traffic/rtd-summer-service-changes/73-0d80d20e-b7c5-4bd3-bd34-b205bab227a1 RTD proposed summer service changes could impact downtown riders RTD proposed summer service changes could impact downtown riders RTD said May 26 through September, D and H line trains will reroute to Union Station, the L Line will be suspended and bus routes on 15th and 17th may be impacted. DENVER - The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is expecting its multiphase, $152-million downtown reconstruction project to have several impacts on summer 2024 service. The first phase of the project is set to begin at the end of May and last through September. During that time, RTD will not operate through its central corridor. "You will see changes to light rail, and that’s because of the reconstruction project that’s starting so we are going to be rerouting light rail in the downtown area," said RTD public relations manager Tina Jaquez. >Video above is from a Feb. 28 9NEWS report on the reconstruction project. RTD said this will have an impact on D, H and L line train riders. The D and H lines will be rerouted to Union Station. The L line will be suspended completely. In addition to line train impacts, bus routes along 15th and 17th streets could be temporarily impacted. During phase one, RTD will focus construction at 15th and Stout streets, 17th and Stout streets, 15th and California streets, 17th and California streets, and Broadway and Welton Street. The district said these intersections won't go under reconstruction at the same time, but traffic in the area may be affected through the summer to accommodate rotating detours. RELATED: RTD plans $152 million light rail reconstruction project According to RTD, the project is meant to increase safety, improve reliability and maintain a 30-year old rail transit system. Ahead of implementing service changes, RTD is hosting a series of public meetings to inform riders of what's to come and take their feedback. "It’s very important for us to listen to what our customers want and say, so we have seen some changes made, and we want to be able to respond to what our customers want," Jaquez said. RTD is hosting a virtual, public meeting, Thursday, March 7, at 12 p.m. for those looking to learn more about the project and share input. Jaquez said the district also accepts feedback all year-round for those unable to make it to the meeting. "Our service planners gather information from customers from our employees, operators who are out, operating vehicles, gathering feedback throughout the year," Jaquez said.
