The Gordon County School System("GCSS") requests a qualified contractor to provide all labor materials, and equipment necessary for the interior painting of Gordon Central High School, 335 Warrior Path, Calhoun, Georgia 30701. Prices shall remain firm for the entire proposed period. Offers that do not guarantee prices through this period shall be considered "Non-Responsive" and will not be considered. Gordon County School System is seeking a qualified contractor to provide all labor, materials and equipment necessary for the interior painting of Gordon Central high School. If the Bid exceeds $100,000.00, Bidders will be required to furnish a 5% Surety Bid Bond with their Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish Performance and a Payment Bonds in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Amount and issued by a Corporate Surety authorized to conduct business in the State of Georgia. Each Bond shall be accompanied by a "Power of Attorney" authorizing the attorney-in-fact to bind the surety and certified to include the date of the bond. All surfaces shall be cleaned of all moisture, dirt, oil, grease, rust, scale, and any other foreign matter before painting. 2. The successful contractor shall perform all necessary site preparation such as caulking, scraping, drywall repair, fill wall holes, priming as needed to ensure the utmost quality and integrity of the product according to the manufacturer's specifications; a. Remove all surface contaminants that will interfere with adhesion of subsequent coats of paint without damaging the substrate or adjacent areas. b. After surface preparation, they must be carefully examined for cracking, blistering, peeling, or flaking of existing paint. Loose, unsound, or non- adhering paint must be removed. c. The successful contractor shall not paint any surfaces that are not in proper condition for painting. The contractor shall notify the Facilities Director, Mr. Ron Norrell, of any surface inconsistencies before any painting or finishing of such surfaces is started. 3. The existing surface is painted using a latex paint. 4. Paint applications shall be by brush, roller, or spray and applied in accordance with the manufacturers printed directions. 5. All lines of demarcation between paint of assorted colors or shades and between painted and unpainted surfaces shall be carefully drawn and shall be free from wavy lines, blurred edges or overlaps. 6. Completed surfaces shall be uniform in gloss, finish, sheen, and color. 7. All finishes shall be applied evenly and free from runs, sags, skips, crawls, or other defects. 8. The successful contractor shall ensure proper ventilation and that no potential or known fire hazards exist. 9. The contractor shall not paint over any hardware, electrical, or telephone connections such as hinges, switches, receptacles, cords, lines, etc. unless specifically authorized by management. 10. The contractor shall install protective covering on windows, doors, floors, and any areas subjected to paint overspray or drippings.
