Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Davenport, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The City Engineer or his designated representative shall be the Project Manager for this project. The proposed improvements include, not limited to, milling off the existing asphalt surface, full depth patching, and Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) resurfacing at the City of Davenport Compost Facility. Actual as-built quantities may vary from bid quantities. The contractor will not be paid any premium for variations in quantities. Before the start of construction, the Contractor shall submit a line of march and schedule of work listing critical path items. The list of items shall include headers, milling, patching, surface course, base course and other items, as required, to establish a time schedule for the project. Contractor shall furnish an as-built (SIP) schedule plan to indicate the work tasks completed and the respective sequencing/actual start dates/actual finish dates and overall compliance with the schedule of work noted below. No work shall start without the approval from the Engineer or his representative. After milling and cleaning has taken place, the Engineer or his representative will immediately begin determining if full depth patching or other repairs to the existing pavement are required. If patching or repairs are not required, surface course shall be placed within two (2) working days of milling. If the lot does require full depth patching or repairs, surface course shall be placed within three (3) working days after milling. Once repairs have started, the Contractor shall continuously work on repairs until completion. If work ceases on repairs for any reason other than the weather, the Contractor shall be charged double working days on the program until the repairs are complete. If the above noted procedures are not followed, liquidated damages of $1,000/ day shall be charged to the Contractor for each working day not in compliance. The Contractor shall start work no later than June 3 rd , 2024. Working days shall begin when the Contractor installs barricades/partitions, begins milling operations, or June 3 rd , 2024, whichever is earlier. Work shall be completed in 5 working days or less, including final cleanup. Liquidated damages of $1,000.00/ day shall be charged to the Contractor for each working day over the allotted time.
