Source Water Protection Monitoring Wells. Scope of Work The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (Water Authority) has received funding to drill, construct, and develop groundwater monitoring well(s) to characterize the impacts of the HP/Digital groundwater contamination site to groundwater. The HP/Digital groundwater contamination site was caused by a release of tetrachloroethene, trichloroethane, and 1,4-dioxane to the subsurface. The 1,4-dioxane contamination was not addressed by historical treatment methods and was likely reinjected at the site, creating a secondary plume. The purpose of the groundwater monitoring well(s) in this Scope of Work (SOW) is to provide critical data points to understand the lateral and vertical extent of 1,4-dioxane in the Area of Interest (Attachment). This SOW is to determine monitoring well location(s) and depth(s) to supplement site data collected to date and oversee its installation, and measure groundwater properties in its vicinity. Scope of services includes project management, planning documents, groundwater modeling, and design, installation, and development of monitoring well(s) to understand the lateral and vertical extent of 1,4-dioxane introduced by the HP/Digital groundwater contamination site. The groundwater monitoring well(s) will be designed, drilled, and installed following ASTM standards and in practices consistent with New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) approved procedures and methodologies.
