The City of Somersworth is seeking bids from qualified Contractors to mill and resurface existing road surfaces and/or place/compact paver shim, replace existing sanitary sewer and drainage manhole frames/covers, adjust existing drainage frames/grates, and place/compact a hot bituminous pavement wearing surface/overlay and reconstruct asphalt sidewalks as detailed in this Request for Bid (RFB). The City of Somersworth requests that paving work begin no earlier than Monday April 15, 2024 with a substantial completion date no later than Friday July 26, 2024 and a final completion date of Friday August 23, 2024. Any questions related to the requested work should be directed to Scott Smith, Deputy City Manager/Director of Finance and Administration via email at sasmith@somersworthnh.gov by 4:30 PM on Monday, January 8, 2024 Bidders wishing to respond to a bid request with alternates to specifications must notify the Finance Office no less than five (5) business days prior to the bid request opening date. If the proposed changes are acceptable, the City will advise other potential respondents, thereby maintaining equality in the bid process. Failure to advise the City could result either in rejection of the alternate proposal or in an untimely extension of the sealed bid process. Bidders may be asked, as part of the bid evaluation process, to supply company financial information. This information will be held in the strictest confidence and be utilized only to help assess the stability of a responding firm. The financial information will be returned to the Bidder after identifying the successful respondent to the bid request.
