Renovation of a water / sewer project in Bay Shore, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

Existing Plant and Well #2 Must Remain Operational Until New Plant is Operational and Approved. Work Includes Coordination Between All Contracts, Daily Cleaning, Submittals, as-builts and Closeout. General Construction Contract D006147: Work Includes but Not Limited to Concrete Foundation and Floor Slab, Masonry Block Walls, Concrete Water Storage Tanks, Stairs, Roof, and All Interior and Exterior Finishes & Incidentals Including Doors, Windows Louvers Fans, Grating, Trench Drains, Selective Demolition, and Site Work. Work Also Includes Providing Temporary Utilities, Utility Mark-out, Construction Fencing, Erosion Control, Sheeting and Bracing Excavation, Final Cleaning, Restoration, Assist With P and E Contract on Programming Controls, Start-up and Testing of All Equipment. Alternate 1 Work Includes Demolition of Existing Plant, Tanks, Drainage Structures, Rough and Final Site Grading, Plantings, and New Asphalt Driveway. Estimated Range: $1,263,168.00 -$1,708,992.00 The Captree State Park Water Treatment Plant consists of two (2) wells each with an authorized capacity of 400 gallons per minute (GPM). Both the wells are drilled into the Magothy Aquifer. The treatment process at this facility includes filtration vessels to address elevated levels of iron followed by sodium hypochlorite treatment for disinfection and sodium hydroxide treatment for pH adjustment. The purpose of this project is to construct a new iron removal treatment system to replace the aging treatment system at this facility. Abbreviated Summary of General Construction Work Covered by Contract Documents (Contract G - D006147) 1. Furnish all labor, equipment, materials, tools, means, methods, and incidentals necessary to complete the Work as required by the Contract Documents for this Construction Contract. Each Contractor shall coordinate, through the Owner/Engineer, the work of their contract with the work by others. 2. Maintain operational the existing treatment building, system, storage tanks and Well No. 2 until such time as the new treatment system is operational and approved by SCDHS. 3. Coordinate with engineer and SCDHS for startup and obtaining approval to operate new treatment system to system. 4. This following abbreviated summary is provided in order to briefly describe the work covered by the Contract Documents for this Construction Contract. It is not all inclusive of the work under the Contract. 5. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. Preliminary site work including site utility mark-out, erection of safety fencing, erosion control facilities, installation of stabilization pads, asphalt removals, sheeting, bracing, excavation, earth movement, sub-grade preparation, removal of excess and/or unsuitable excavated material, and import of suitable material, as necessary to install and construct all the work defined within the Contract Documents. b. Remove and legally dispose of existing items scheduled for demolition (including, but not limited to: existing Well No. 3 building, concrete pads, asphalt pavement required for work of base bid, and clearing of trees and brush as required). c. Site work including drainage structures, drainage piping, rough and final grading, backfilling and compacting excavations resulting from site removals, concrete sidewalk. d. Scope of Alternate Item 1, including demolition of existing iron treatment building, demolition of existing iron treatment equipment, demolition of existing underground water storage tanks, demolition of existing drainage structure, demolition of existing fuel tank, clearing of trees and brush as required, rough and final grading of demolished existing iron treatment building and water storage tanks area, full removal of existing driveway asphalt pavement, new driveway asphalt pavement and base, new asphalt pavement and base for trenched areas outside of curb line, and plantings. e. Furnish and supply temporary facilities. f. Construction of the new treatment building including a concrete foundation and floor slab, masonry block walls, concrete water storage tank, stairs, roof and all interior and exterior finishes & incidentals including but not limited to: doors, windows, louvers, fans, grating, trench drain systems, etc. g. Coordinate locations and installation of pipe or conduit penetrations and sleeves (provided by Contract P or E) in new floor slabs, foundation and masonry walls with Contract P or E. h. Coordinate locations of and perform installation of conduit penetrations in all existing floor slabs, foundation and masonry walls with Contract E. i. Coordinate locations of iron treatment vessels and vessel saddles with Contract P, prior to placement of foundations and installation of CMU wall. j. Painting of interior concrete block and other finishes. k. Final restoration of areas disturbed by all other contract work. l. Daily and Final cleaning. m. Project closeout submittals. 6. All other work shown and specified within the Contract Documents for Contract G.
