Site work and paving for a civil project in Belfast, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
**As of February 05, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Work under this project includes, but is not limited to, open cut replacement of 4,400 LF of 8" sanitary sewer, lining of 1,350 LF of 8" sanitary sewer, installation of 26 manholes, pre-lining spot repairs, manhole rehabilitation, installation of 2,100 LF of 4" and 6" sanitary building sewer services, 1,800 tons of MDOT and local road trench pavement, and traffic control, removal/disposal of asbestos piping, clearing and grubbing, abandoning pipes and manholes, test pits, ledge removal, installation of bituminous curb, removing and resetting granite curb, erosion control, and all earthwork, restoration of disturbed areas, and all incidentals as required for a complete project. The project must be substantially completed within 270 consecutive calendar days and complete within 300 calendar days after the execution of Notice to Proceed. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President's Executive Order No. 11246 and amendments or supplements to that Order. The requirements for bidders and contractors under this Order are explained in the Notice to Contractors. The Contractor must comply with the Davis-Bacon Related Act per the CWSRF Supplementary Conditions. All laborers and mechanics employed by the contractor and subcontractors on this project shall not be paid less than the prevailing wage rates contained in the wage determination published in the bidding documents. The Contractor must comply with all Federal Requirements per the CWSRF Supplementary Conditions. The Contractor must comply with the use of American Iron and Steel requirements per the CWSRF Supplementary Conditions. A certified check or bank draft payable to the Owner or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and Surety Company in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each bid. In order to be considered as a responsive bidder, each general contractor must be on the Engineer's bidding register by purchasing at least one set of bidding documents directly from the Engineer's office. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of, such Bidder fails to satisfy the Owner that such Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the contract and to complete the work contemplated therein. The successful Bidder will be required to provide both a Performance and a Payment Bond, each representing 100% of the contract value, at the time of contract execution. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid that it deems to be in its best interests and to waive any irregularities in bidding. The goals for this project are a minimum of 0.64% certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and a minimum of 1.64% certified Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) participation.
