This project is included in the Sarasota County's fiscal years 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of December 29, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction have not been established; however, funding is mainly allotted to fiscal year 2025. A detailed scope has not yet been released. This project will ultimately design and construct a proposed new 4-lane divided urban arterial roadway section with closed drainage a distance of approximately 2.1 miles in length. The project includes sidewalks, bicycle lanes, roadway lighting, median, and landscaping. It also includes stormwater facilities and drainage ponds to accommodate the roadway improvements. A portion of the project traverses the Palmer Place Artistry subdivision and needed right-of-way required to be given to the County. The development is responsible for constructing approximately 1200' of the roadway. Additional right-of-way is needed along the east boundary of the subdivision abutting Fruitville Road. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
