Question Deadline 12/20/2023 GENERAL The Contractor will furnish and install a quantity of two (2) Fairbanks Morse 6" Model C6546L Vertical Close Coupled Solids-Handling Non-Clog pump rotating assembly. The new rotating assembly shall be an exact dimensional and hydraulic equivalent of the existing. Only OEM parts and equipment shall be acceptable. Fairbanks Morse Manufacturer's representative must be present at the time of installation. The City shall remove the motor from the pump housing and reinstall it after repairs are completed. The City shall lift the existing rotating assembly out of the dry pit using the crane and hoist system on-site and lower the new rotating assembly into the dry pit for final installation by the Contractor. Conditions of Operation Each pump shall be capable of providing the following hydraulic conditions: Design Conditions: Capacity 3650 GPM Total Dynamic 213' TDH Head Maximum Speed 1785 RPM Maximum Solid 4 Inches Size Rotation One pump will be counterclockwise rotation and one pump will be clockwise rotation when viewed from the driver end looking at the pump. Impeller The impeller shall be balanced non-clogging type made of close-grained cast iron conforming to ASTM A48 Class 30. The impeller shall be of one-piece, single suction, enclosed multi-vane, radial flow design with well-rounded leading vanes and then tapered toward the trailing edge for a circular flow pattern. The waterways through the impeller will have extremely smooth contours, devoid of sharp corners, so as to prevent rags or stringy, fibrous materials from catching or clogging. The clearance between the impeller outside diameter and cutwater shall be capable of passing a 4" sphere. The impeller is to be balanced and secured to the shaft by means of a bolt, washer, and key. The arrangement shall be such that the impeller cannot be loosened from the torque in either forward or reverse rotation. Wiper vanes on the backimpeller shroud are not allowed.
