Supply 20,000 cubic yards of Type 105 traffic gravel to the specifications stated. Material shall be hauled and spread by the contractor at rates and on roads designated by the Municipality. An option to purchase supply and placement of an additonal 5000 yards of Type 105 traffic gravel is also included in the tender. This optional gravel supply and placement will be at the descretion of the RM of Estevan Council. A Bid Bond or certified cheque in the amount of five percent (5%) of the tendered sum shall accompany each tender. The Bid Bond or deposit of the unsuccessful bidders shall be returned to them following the awarding of the Contract. The Municipality shall require the successful bidder, at the time of execution of the Contract, to furnish a performance bond or irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to fifty percent (50%) of the tendered price of the work. The cost of securing the bond or letter of credit shall be borne by the Contractor. The Contractor shall commence spreading of gravel immediately after spring road restrictions have been lifted or in the event that no road restrictions are imposed by the Municipality no earlier than April 15, 2024. All gravel supplied under contract must be placed prior to June 1, 2025. No additional payment will be made to the contractor for the storage of the stockpiled gravel material at the crushing site during the duration of the contract. The Municipality reserves the right to refuse to accept any or all tenders, and the lowest tender will not necessarily be accepted. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, any tender may be rejected which is incomplete, obscure, or irregular. The Municipality reserves the right to cancel the acceptance of any tender at any time before the execution of the contract by all parties, without any liability against the Municipality.
