This project will replace the potable water distribution and wastewater collection systems in the Flamingo District and the Pine Island District. Project Location: Flamingo and Pine Island National Park sites in the Everglades area in Southern Florida This project will replace the potable water distribution and wastewater collection systems in the Flamingo District and the Pine Island District. This Flamingo District work includes rehabilitating the reverse osmosis desalination potable water treatment plant, replacing raw water wells, replacing the potable water storage tank, replacing the finished water pump station, replacing the water distribution system including new meters, replacing the sewage collection system including new manholes, replacing the wastewater treatment plant within a Cat 5 hurricane rated structure, adding an effluent groundwater injection system, and providing new electrical service and associated equipment. The Pine Island District work includes adding common wells and water treatment plant, replacing the potable water distribution system including new meters, upgrading the fire water system, adding draft hydrants, replacing the sewage collection system including new manholes and lift stations, replacing the wastewater treatment plant within a Cat 5 hurricane rated structure, and providing new electrical service and associated equipment.
