The City of Indianola is planning a comprehensive assessment for the Indianola Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center. This assessment will consider existing conditions at the current site, code corrections, and recommended enhancements. This planning process will require public input to determine the needs of our community, evaluating the current Indianola Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center, and determining if there is a need for a newer and/or larger aquatic facility. The selected firm will have proven experience and knowledge in aquatic facility planning and experience with public and other stakeholder engagement. The Scope of Services to be performed by the CONSULTANT under this agreement shall encompass and include detailed work, services, materials, testing, equipment and supplies to complete a thorough assessment of the current conditions of the Indianola Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center, while developing a comprehensive plan to meet the current and future needs of the City of Indianola including: Contract Management, Project Coordination, Existing Conditions Assessment, Needs Analysis/Early Concept Planning, and Final Report Production with Financial plan. The City of Indianola, Iowa, is looking for a visionary planning and design team to evaluate the current aquatic center and determine if a newer facility is needed based off public input and space. The project will also require scoping input from community members, the Indianola Veterans Memorial Building Commission, the Parks and Recreation Commission, Indianola City Council, staff, and other key community stakeholders to inform the planning and design process. This project will be used as the base information for maintaining the current facility, adding future aquatic center amenities and aquatic center enhancements and development of additional aquatic opportunities. All elements of this project will need to maintain continuity with Indianolas Comprehensive Plan known as Elevate Indianola, which was updated and adopted in 2020, as well as City zoning regulations, and State Fire Code regulations.
