Site work for a water / sewer project in Madison, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Project includes the following Work: Construction of approximately 33,700 feet of finish water main replacement and related items. Owner anticipates that the Project's total bid price will be approximately $8,000,000. The Project has an expected duration of [675] days or less spread over 3 years for final completion. The work is expected to be completed over the course of 3 consecutive calendar years, with 2 winter shutdowns anticipated. Contract Time will not commence to run until materials can be obtained. If bid amount is $125,00.00 or greater then Bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 5% of the Total Bid Price as outlined in the Instructions to Bidders. If bid amount is $125,000.00 or greater, Payment and Performance Bonds will need to be provided at Contract Signing as described in the Contract Documents. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials. This Contract is expected to be funded in whole or in part by the United States Department of Agriculture - Rural Development. This Contract contains requirements from these funding agencies. Neither the USDARD, nor any of their departments, agencies, or employees is or will be a party to this contract. The word "agency" in the contract documents refers to these funding agencies. Award of any Contract will be contingent upon final financial agreements between the District and the funding agencies. The project scope may be adjusted to match available funding. a bid security in the amount of 5% of the Total Bid Price as outlined in the Instructions to Bidders. If bid amount is $125,000.00 or greater, Payment and Performance Bonds will need to be provided at Contract Signing as described in the Contract Documents. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing.
