Saving Project...

Site work and new construction of a detention facility in Plainview, Texas. Design plans call for the construction of a 57,020-square-foot, one-story above grade, 200-bed detention facility.

Scope: new jail facility with 192 to 200 beds, single-story with approximately 57,020 square feet with about 10,000 square feet for Sheriff's Department offices. As of June 2024, the project is in preliminary design and requires funding. The project is expected to be on the November ballot bond election. Information regarding the selection of a general contractor has not been disclosed. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. This is RFQ is for Preliminary Design of the Project for the selected architect to provide a preliminary design, construction schedule, and cost estimating to establish assist the County in establishing a Project program, including a project budget for the County to use for determining project planning and acquiring project funding. The County may elect to enter into subsequent agreements or amendments to the agreement with the selected architect for the remaining design phases through construction administration.
