Vegetation Control Along Metrorail Tracks. This scope of service covers a 3-year requirement for a Contractor to provide vegetation control application services on all rail lines four (4) times each per fiscal year commencing October 1st, 2023, through September 30th, 2024 - subsequent years to repeat same schedule, to all track guideways throughout the METRORail system. METRO expects the vegetation control to be strong enough to provide 95% control of all vegetation within the specified areas. The desired goal of this program is permanent eradication of all vegetation within the areas described, based on field inspections during and at the end of each growing season. LICENSING: When a special license or permit is required by federal, state or local law or ordinance, a bidder must be properly licensed prior to bidding and furnish evidence of such with the bid. A PRE-BID BRIEFING will be held at 10:00 a.m. CST on Tuesday, December 20, 2024 (See access information below.) In-person participation is not offered for this briefing. The total METRO Guideway System consists of 39 pedestrian stations. Station names and locations will be provided at the pre-bid meeting that will be conducted for this project. The guideway system is made up of three (3) line segments that connect to one another at the Main Street Junction in downtown Houston. All three (3) lines are powered by an overhead catenary system and all three (3) lines are double track. Within the three (3) lines, the guideway system is 92% embedded and 8% ballasted as shown on the plan and profile drawings, which will be provided at the pre-bid meeting for this solicitation.
