Wood County Schools is requesting bids for the following: Fire Alarm Maintenance 2023-2024. There is no pre-bid meeting. If a bidder is in doubt as to the true meaning of any portion of the bid document(s), he/she may submit a question via email to Director of the Physical Plant Department, Martin Best, at martin.best@k12.wv.us Questions and answers shall be sent to all parties who received a bid document from the Purchasing Department prior to the noted deadline. A certified cashier's check is not acceptable as a Bid Bond. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety, in an amount equal to 5% of the bid. The successful bidder shall submit a Performance and Material Bond within ten (10) calendar days of award notification. Failure to submit a Performance Bond nullifies the Bid. The successful bidder shall ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Performance & Material Bond: For projects exceeding twenty five thousand dollars ($25,000), the bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall pay for, execute, and deliver to the Wood County Schools within ten (10) business days after award of the contract by Wood County Schools a 100% corporate surety Performance and Material Payment Bond on AIA Document A311 (or equivalent form), to be executed by a solvent Bonding company listed in the most current Federal Register, Circular 570, and is authorized to do business in West Virginia. The labor and material Bond shall be in the sum of 100% of the contract of the company. No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the bid opening. Wood County Schools reserves the right to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of a bidder, to waive all the informalities in the bidding process to the extent permitted by law, to reject any or all bids, and to make selections from the bids that are solely in the best interest of Wood County Schools.
