Renovation of a day care center in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a day care center.

The County of Kenosha Wisconsin (County), through its Purchasing Division (Purchasing), requests bids to establish a contract for roof replacement at the Brookside Care Center, 3506 Washington, Kenosha, WI 53144. The attached Standard Terms and Conditions shall govern this bid unless specifically modified in these bid documents. Conditions of bid that include the word "must" or "shall," describe a mandatory requirement. All specifications are defined as mandatory minimum requirements unless otherwise stated. If no bidder is able to comply with a given specification or condition of bid, Purchasing reserves the right to delete that specification or condition of bid. Failure to meet specification requirements may disqualify your bid. Vendors may not submit their own contract document as a substitute for these terms and conditions. Bidder shall submit with their bid a cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price. Check or bid bonds shall be payable to Kenosha County. This check/bond shall be forfeited to the County if the awarded bidder fails to enter into a contract for the work awarded and file approved performance & payment bonds for the full amount of the contract price within ten (10) business days from date of award. Such bond shall be issued from a reliable surety company having a current A.M. Best rating of A- or better, licensed or otherwise authorized to do business in the State of Wisconsin and acceptable to Kenosha County. Award of Contract (estimated) 3/16/2024. Question Deadline 01/16/2024 at 5:00 PM CT Submit questions in writing via email to: Matthew Fleming, Purchasing Director, e-mail: matt.fleming@kenoshacounty.org. County reserves the right to accept or reject the use of subcontractors in the performance of this contract. CONTRACT TERM Contract will begin immediately upon award and will continue until project completion. Bidder shall provide the estimated lead time for project start and completion. The Work includes: 1. Related sheet metal work (see Section 07 62 00 and Construction Drawings for additional metal fabrication and installation requirements) a. Replacement of existing sheet metal components integral to the shingle roof system, using shop-fabricated sheet metal flashings: 1) Drip edge at all rake edges 2) Eave apron at all eaves 3) Step flashings (except where drawings indicate reuse is allowed) 4) Headwall flashing 5) Counter flashing at all sidewalls and head walls 6) Valley flashing b. Fabrication and installation of sheet metal crickets and curb flashings around square curb penetrations, as shown in the Construction Drawings. 1) *Note: At some of the existing curbs, there is an electrical conduit penetration on the up-slope side of the curb, where the new saddle is to be installed. Where required, contractor shall utilize a licensed electrical contractor to relocate the conduit penetration to a spot where it won't interfere with the new sheet metal curb flashing components. The bidding contractor shall be responsible for this work and shall include the cost as part of the base bid. c. New 6-inch K-style continuous aluminum gutters. 1) Replace existing gutters at existing locations 2) Install new gutters, in two (2) locations where they currently don't exist, where shown in the Construction Drawings (including new downspouts) d. Replacement of existing downspouts with new 3"x4" downspouts. 1) New downspouts shall be installed at existing locations. 2) Where downspouts currently connect to underground drain inlets, provide and install PVC x Corrugated adaptor to connect downspout to underground drain. 2. Replacement of soil stack flashings with new lead flashings.
