Construction of a third process train at the Windsor Water Treatment Plant, to meet the required filter redundancy requirements and to better facilitate an interconnection with the Falmouth Water Utility to support the increase in population growth within that community. This would include the addition of a complete third process train including, static mixer, flocculation system, clarification with dissolved air flotation (DAF), and filtration requiring an addition to the existing building, an upgraded saturator/recycle system and PLC would also be required. The new building will be approximately 7m wide (east-west direction) by 20m long and 7m high. In an effort to match the existing buildings throughout the site, the new building will have a precast concrete roof (hollow core planks) with concrete block walls and brick cladding, all supported on a concrete foundation. TIMELINE: Request for Proposals for detailed design services has been awarded. The consultant is to complete detailed design for the third process train c/w building, saturator system and PLC. Complete scope of work and project schedules may be confirmed mid-2024.
