Ecological Management at Sand Ridge and Kankakee Sands Preserve (2024) This project is located north of Smiley Road, west of River Road, and east of Essex Road in Custer Township, Will County, Illinois. The bid submitted shall include a certified check, bank draft, cashier's check, bid bond or an acceptable irrevocable letter of credit payable to the Forest Preserve District of Will County for not less than 10% of total Bid amount. All such Bid Security must be drawn on a bank authorized to do business in Illinois or provided by a bonding company authorized and licensed to do business in Illinois, as applicable, and must be maintained until execution of the Contract. Bids submitted without Bid Security will not be considered. The Bid Security will be returned to the successful Bidder upon execution of the Contract. Bid securities will be returned to unsuccessful Bidders upon execution of the Contract by the successful Bidder. Bids cannot be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after bid opening. Bids will be reviewed by the Forest Preserve and presented to the Board of Commissioners for Award of Contract at their regular board meeting on February 8, 2024. The Forest Preserve will issue a written Notice of Contract Award to the successful Bidder. Work shall begin within 10 business days of receipt of the written Notice to Proceed. Work shall be completed in accordance with the Contract Documents by May 1, 2025, as provided in the General Conditions, Article IV, Section 4.4. The Forest Preserve is committed to supporting "Small Businesses", "Minority Business Enterprises", "Female Business Enterprises", and "Persons with Disabilities Enterprises," as those terms are defined under Illinois law. The Forest Preserve has set a goal to secure up to 16% of the contracted amount for contracted services and improvement projects to such disadvantaged businesses. Such businesses are strongly encouraged to bid on Forest Preserve contracts. The Forest Preserve reserves the right to accept any Bid, any part or combinations of Bids, to waive informalities or irregularities, and to reject any and all Bids to protect and preserve both the Forest Preserve and the public's best interest. No Pre-Bid Meeting The successful Bidder shall submit a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond as outlined in the General Conditions, Article VI, Section 6.1. The performance and payment bonds shall be provided by a bonding company authorized and licensed to do business in Illinois.
