Reese Street Pedestrians Improvements Pedestrian Improvements, Sidewalk, Lighting Scope of Work: The project scope includes a sidewalk to be constructed along Reese Street between Crescent Avenue and Central Avenue. Construction of the sidewalk will require curb & gutter, lighting, and pedestrian Improvements. Erosion control and traffic control will also be included in the project scope. The OWNER reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. Each BIDDER must deposit with his/her BID security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. The successful BIDDER will be required to submit 100% Performance and Payment Bonds. No BIDDER may withdraw his/her BID within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Bids will be opened at 4:31 p.m. on the 8 th day of January, 2024, at the office of City Clerk, 2 nd Floor City Hall, 2850 19 th Street South, Homewood, AL 35209. Each BID must be accompanied by a BID BOND payable to the OWNER for five percent (5%) of the total amount of the BID, not to exceed $10,000. As soon as the BID prices have been compared, the OWNER will return the BONDS of all except the three lowest responsible BIDDERS. When the Agreement is executed, the Bonds of the two remaining unsuccessful BIDDERS will be returned. The BID BOND of the successful BIDDER will be retained until the PERFORMANCE and PAYMENT BONDS have been executed and approved, after which it will be returned.
