Renovation of a residential development in Lakeville, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
Strip and replace roof shingles for the Old Town House. Replacement of sub roofing as needed. The Town of Lakeville is requesting bids for Old town Hall Roof Replacement project per the construction documents prepared by RTA Architects located at 2 Precinct Street, Lakeville MA. The Old Town Hall is listed on the State Register of Historic Places. All work must comply with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties and the project is being partially funded with a grant from the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund, Massachusetts Historical Commission Roof System Removal: Strip the existing roof shingles to the bare deck and re-nail deck as necessary. The existing building roofing systems and flashings shall be completely removed to the original decking and legally disposed of. The removal of the existing roof systems shall be coordinated with the installation ofthe new roofto prevent exposure to weather conditions and potential water infiltration into the buildings. Design documents shall identify all requirements for safety devices, need for chutes and/or cranes for roof material removal, dumpster location, protection from exposure to the weather, protection of property and personnel, building access routes and circulation patterns, contractor use of the premises, parking, security procedures, equipment and materials storage, waste disposal, etc. New Roofing System: 18 square to 20 square: It is intended that the design and specifications for a new Alaskan Yellow Cedar shingle roofing system closely matches the existing Cedar shingled roof. All roofmounted equipment or features including roof exhausts, flashing, plumbing vents and any other roofrelated materials and provide for the replacement ofsaid features. Re-nail any ofthe existing planks as needed. Install 3/8" Fir CDX plywood over entire roof deck prior to shingling. Make appropriate trim repairs (primed pine or equivalent) that affect the roof installation. This includes, but is not limited to, fascia, soffit and rake boards that are rotten or broken. All penetration will have new flanges and/or flashing installed and sealed if applicable. Install new heavy-duty aluminum drip edge; Install appropriate underlayment per manufacturer's application instructions and cap with recommended materials The existing chimney (1) is sound and is not need ofrepairs.
