NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County, Nevada (RTC) is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the Sparks Intelligent Corridors project. This project will install fiber optics and associated infrastructure at various locations throughout of the City of Sparks to improve communications to traffic signals. The project also proposes to automatically adjust traffic signal timings based on delays resulting from incidents or construction. The major work items include: roadway excavation and reconstruction with aggregate base and bituminous plantmix, roadbed modification with cement treatment, construction of new curb and gutter, removal and replacement of sidewalk, median curbs, driveways and pedestrian ramps, utility adjustments, signage and striping. Every Bid shall be accompanied by a Surety Company Bid Bond, or by a Certified or Cashier's Check made payable to the Regional Transportation Commission in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the Bid, said amount to be forfeited to the RTC should the Bidder to whom the Contract is awarded fail to enter into a Contract in accordance with the Bid and other Contract Documents within ten (10) calendar days after award. Prevailing wage rates for Washoe County shall be posted on the work site and paid to all classifications of labor as required by the laws of the State of Nevada.
