The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Lanier Filter Plant Dewatering Building Modifications and Chemical Improvements. Improvements to the Dewatering Building at Lanier Filter Plant including the construction of a permanent ferric sulfate storage and feed system, demolition of existing restrooms and construction of new first and second floor restrooms, two new chemical fill stations, and associated driveway and building modifications. Work shown on the Drawings, or indicated in the Specifications, or indicated elsewhere in the Contract Documents is part of the Work, regardless of whether indicated below. The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Demolition of existing temporary ferric sulfate storage and feed system 2. Demolition of existing first floor restrooms 3. New Ferric Sulfate Storage and Feed System 4. New first and second floor restrooms New ferric sulfate fill station, lime fill station, associated fill piping, and driveway modifications and chemical containment Demolition of the existing lime fill station and all other Work required in accordance with the Contract Documents Contracting Method: The Project will be constructed under a single prime construction Contract. All Bidders are required to submit a Bid Bond or a certified check made payable to the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. The Bid Bond or certified check must be enclosed in the envelope with the sealed bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the sum of 100% of the total amount bid and provide insurance coverage as required by the contract documents. Liquidated Damages: Bidder agrees to complete the Contract awarded within the allowable calendar days for completion" from the date of the Notice to Proceed and he further agrees that the Owner may retain from the monies which may become due the amount of $1,600.00 (Substantial) / $1,100.00 (Final) for each and every day that the completion of the work may be delayed. The County will award the Contract to the lowest "qualified" bidder, subject with the Owner's right to reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities, and to make an award deemed in its best interests. With limited response, Gwinnett County reserves the right to extend the solicitation opening date as appropriate in order to assure a competitive procurement process.
