As of February 23, 2024 this project was awarded to MCA Contracting Ltd. with the awarded amount of $1,252,905.66. The Replacement of Old Mill Road Bridge on Kagawong River which flows into Mudge Bay project is taking place in Kagawong, located in West Manitoulin Island. The historic village of Kagawong is one of Manitoulin's most picturesque. Part of Kagawong's appeal lies in its geography. The village is built into a valley with its downtown sitting adjacent to the waters of Mudge Bay. Old Mill Road and its associated infrastructure is owned and maintained by the Corporation of the Township of Billings (hereafter referred to as the Owner). The Work consists of the supply of all labour, material, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the work shown, or described by, or reasonably inferred from these contract documents and contract drawings. Without limiting the qualifications of the foregoing, the Work consists of the following: - Removal of the existing Old Mill Road Bridge superstructure including deck, curbs, railings, and girders. - Partially remove existing timber cribs abutments, - Design, Supply and Install Helical (Screw) piles foundation system, - Construct new footings, ballast wall, and wingwalls. - Design, fabricate, supply, and erect a new two-lane prefabricated, steel modular bridge (15.24m length), and - Complete approach works including granular road work and roadside safety features.
