Renovation of a conference / convention center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Design plans call for the renovation of a 95,000-square-foot conference / convention center.
As of April 24, 2024, an architect has been selected and this project is in the schematic design phase. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Professional Architectural/Engineering Services for Rooftop Repair Project at the Hawai'i Convention Center. When required by the Special Provisions, a performance bond and a payment bond shall be delivered by the Firm/Contractor to the State at the same time the executed contract is delivered. The Firm shall demonstrate substantial experience in undertaking and completing the type of work required. The scope of services to be performed by the Firm will be re-evaluated as deemed necessary by the HTA. Award of contract neither guarantees all or a portion of the work described herein. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES All services provided shall be in accordance with this RFQ, including its attachments and any addenda. The following scope of services is included as a guide for the Firm. It is designed to identify the minimum service level expected from the successful Firm and as such should be modified and augmented, based upon the experience of the Firm, as necessary to complete the Project: The Firm selected will enter into an agreement with HTA to provide professional services related to the Project from pre-design to post-construction. Based on the requirements of HTA, the selected Firm shall provide professional services meeting all standards and codes used in design for basic services as required on the Project as follows and per milestone attached. 1. Pre-Design Evaluation/Condition Survey and Report 2. Schematic Design 3. Opinion of Probable Cost (OPC) 4. Design Development 5. Contract Documents 6. Permit Processing 7. Bidding/Award 8. Construction Administration Liquidated Damages. When the CONTRACTOR is given notice of delay or nonperformance as specified in paragraph 13 (Termination for Default) and fails to cure in the time specified, it is agreed the CONTRACTOR shall pay to the STATE the amount, if any, set forth in this Contract per calendar day from the date set for cure until either (i) the STATE reasonably obtains similar goods or services, or both, if the CONTRACTOR is terminated for default, or (ii) until the CONTRACTOR provides the goods or services, or both, if the CONTRACTOR is not terminated for default. The HTA, an agency of the State of Hawai'i, is seeking a qualified firm to provide professional architectural and engineering services related, but not limited, to the planning, designing, bidding, and construction administration of the approximately 95,000 Sf 4th floor pedestrian Rooftop Terrace Deck repair and replacement project at the Hawai'i Convention Center hereinafter the Firm. This Contract shall end on December 31, 2026, with an option to extend up to twelve (12) months, with a possible end date of December 31, 2027. Funds provided will be through the General Obligation Bond Program. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
