Two Hundred (200) working days will be allowed for the completion of the Project. The Work will consist of Resurfacing on CR-64 from SR-42 (US-98) to CR-13 and Intersection Improvements on CR-64 at Pollard Road (Grade, Drain, Base, Pave and Signals). The principal items of work are approximately as follows: 1700 CY Unclassified Excavation, 2750 CY Borrow Excavation, 7890 Tons Asphalt Paving, 900 Tons Crushed Aggregate, 1597 LF Storm Drain Pipe, 444 LF Sanitary Sewer Gravity Pipe, 369 LF Sanitary Sewer Force Main Pipe, 398 LF Water Main Pipe, Concrete Vault with Hatch for Waterline Interconnect, New Traffic Signal Pole with Mast Arm Assembly, and other miscellaneous items for roadway construction including striping, erosion control and traffic control All Bids must be on blank forms provided in the Specifications and submitted in its entirety. A Bid Bond executed and signed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make bonds in the State of Alabama or a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank, payable to City of Daphne, Alabama, for an amount of five percent (5%) of the amount bid, but in no event more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000), shall be filed with the Bid. A performance bond in the form and terms approved by the City in an amount not less than the contract price will be required at the signing ofthe Agreement. A labor and materials bond in the form and terms approved by the City in an amount not less than the Contract Price insuring payment for all labor and materials shall also be required at the signing ofthe Agreement. In addition, the Contractor must furnish to the City at the time ofthe signing of the Agreement a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the Contract Documents. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all Bids and to waive informalities and to furnish any item of material or work to change the amount ofthe Contract Price. Liquidated damages for non-completion of the Work within the Contract Times will be assessed in accordance with the terms ofthe Contract The City may conduct such investigations as the City deems necessary to establish the responsibility, qualifications, and financial ability of Bidders, proposed Subcontractors, Suppliers, individuals, or entities proposed for those portions ofthe Work in accordance with the Contract Documents.
