The Work under this Contract includes, but not limited to, installation of new aboveground storage tanks (ASTs); cleaning, inspection, repair, and lining of existing fuel underground storage tanks (USTs); permanent closure-in-place of existing non-fuel USTs; installation of supplementary sacrificial anodes for cathodic protection of existing steel USTs; and concrete removal/repair as required for installation of supplementary cathodic protection for steel USTs and other UST appurtenance upgrades. - The work location is within a Metro Transit Base which is a high activity, controlled access area that will remain in full operation during the Work, except as specified herein for Work requiring system shutdown. WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS A. The general elements of the project include the items below, as detailed in the technical specifications: 1. Installation of Aboveground Storage Tanks (ASTs) including associated piping, pumps, concrete footings and fluid level monitoring/leak detection system. 2. Cleaning, inspection, repair and lining of existing fuel USTs, including upgrade of associated fluid level monitoring/leak detection system. 3. Permanent closure-in-place of existing non-fuel USTs. 4. Installation of supplementary sacrificial anodes for the cathodic protection of existing steel underground storage tanks. 5. Concrete removal, excavation and concrete repair for installation of supplementary cathodic protection for steel USTs and other UST appurtenance upgrades.
