Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Lewiston, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The work for the park street paving and sidewalk improvements shall consist of, but not be limited to, furnishing and installing (except as noted) all materials labor and equipment necessary to resurface or rehabilitate streets or roads as listed, including: utility cover adjustments: water gate box lowering and raising, tack coat, shim, and overlay; driveway preparation and lawn and driveway restoration; pavement removal, common excavation, aggregate base gravel; erosion and traffic control and cleanup. Questions and Requests for Information shall be submitted to Justin Bisson (jbisson@lewistonmaine.gov) on or before noon, January 18, 2024. Questions and RFIs will be responded to via email to potential bidders on the Plan Holders List and those registered with the City Purchasing Department for this project. Lower and plate all manholes and catch basins, as well as lower all water gate boxes as needed prior to milling pavement. Mill existing pavement at approximately 2". Place a layer of 9.5 mm HMA Shim. Set utilities to grade. Grind butt joints as needed. Place 12.5mm HMA surface at 1.5". Perform driveway preparation as needed. Approximately 765' in length. Remove all existing sidewalk pavement and concrete. Adjust and reset existing granite curb that is deemed to be in good condition along Kennedy Park side. Close in opening with new granite curb, replacing any damaged existing granite curb with new granite curb. Reveal should be approximately 7". Add shim gravel to sidewalk area, and pave with 2" of 9.5 mm HMA in one lift. Remove asphalt curb on Chestnut Street side, replacing with slip-form concrete curb. Perform lawn and driveway follow up as needed. Remove all existing sidewalk pavement. Remove all existing granite curb and replace with new granite curb. Reveal should be approximately 5-7". Add shim gravel to sidewalk area, and pave with 2" of 9.5 mm HMA in one lift. Perform lawn and driveway follow up as needed.
