Escambia County purchased the old Rocky's Collision Center located on Herman Street for construction of a regional stormwater pond to alleviate flooding in the area. The Solid Waste and Road Operations Department were in need of expanding their facilities and considered purchasing two new pre-engineered metal buildings The property on Herman Street had two, fairly large, pre-engineered metal buildings that were in jeopardy of being demolished. In an effort to save taxpayers funding, Solid Waste and Road Operations agreed to use the existing buildings if we could enter into a contract to have them disassembled, categorized, and reassembled at the new locations, provided they had concrete slabs supporting the structures. Escambia County Facilities Management desires to have two (2) separate concrete slabs installed; one (1) at Solid Waste and one (1) at Road Operations. Lot 1 will consist of constructing an approximately 8,000 sf reinforced concrete slab that will include a drainage trough lengthwise through the building. This slab will be constructed on the north side Upland Road, within the Escambia County Road Department Complex located at 601 Hwy 297-A, Cantonment, Florida. The site will need to be prepared by the contractor, ensuring not to fill any of the proposed area, but will be allowed to cut the site to obtain the desired grade of the new slab. The contractor will be required to work closely with the pre-engineered metal building contractor to ensure the new building will fit on the concrete slab. A site visit is encouraged by all prospective vendors to ensure they are familiar with the proposed project. Lot 1 shall be bid as a lump sum to include all appurtenances necessary to complete the project. Lot 2 will consist of constructing an approximately 5,100 sf reinforced concrete slab that will include plumbing to accommodate two (2) bathroom facilities. This slab will be constructed at the Solid Waste Complex located at 13009 Beulah Road, Cantonment, Florida. The site will need to be prepared by the contractor, ensuring sufficient fill for the proposed area. The contractor will be required to work closely with the pre-engineered metal building contractor to ensure the new building will fit on the concrete slab. A site visit is encouraged by all prospective vendors to ensure they are familiar with the proposed project. Lot 2 shall be bid as a lump sum to include all appurtenances necessary to complete the project.
