Demolition and site work for a residential development in Chesapeake, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
Demolition of Primary structure ONLY at 2036 Iowa Street, Chesapeake, VA 23323 Scope of Work: The Contractor shall provide: 1. All labor, tools, materials, supplies, supervision, permits, services, equipment, and any incidentals necessary to remove the buildings at the following location: a. 2036 Iowa Street, Chesapeake, VA 23323, which consists of a vacant Primary Structure and an Accessory Structure. Primary Structure to be demolished ONLY. Accessory structure is NOT to be demolished. 2. Contractor shall apply for all necessary permits. The Contractor shall be a licensed with Virginia State DPOR for the ability to proceed with necessary permits. The City will assist the Contractor in obtaining quick turnaround on permit applications. a. The Development and Permits Supervisor will obtain Rodent Free Certification and all Utility Cut Off Letters (copies will be provided to the Contractor to facilitate permit application). Note: If rodent activity is found during the Rodent Free Certification inspection, the Contractor will be responsible for abatement of rodents and providing rodent free documentation from an extermination company prior to obtaining the permit. 3. In the demolition and removal of the building, the Contractor shall perform in a workmanlike manner and shall fully comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations including, but not limited to, the Chesapeake City Code and the current Edition of the Uniform Statewide Building Code. 4. Demolition services shall include the following: a. Removal of the PRIMARY STRUCTURE ONLY (to include foundation removal); cleanup, and disposal of all demolition debris. i. NOTE: The City makes no representation as to the presence or absence of asbestos on site. It is understood that the contractor has inspected the site and is familiar with the nature and extent of the contract documents, work, and all conditions on site that may affect the cost, progress, or performance of the work, including the presence or absence of asbestos. Should asbestos containing building materials (ACBM) be found in the interior or exterior of the building to be demolished, abatement of the ACBM shall be performed in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. ACBM shall be properly disposed of in an approved landfill. The Contractor shall provide a properly filled out and signed Shipment Manifest to the Department of Development & Permits for disposal of the ACBM at a proper disposal facility. b. Recycling or disposal of all debris at an approved landfill or disposal site. Contractor shall provide copies of disposal receipts to the City. c. Contractor shall grade the surface of the property in a level manner which allows for drainage of storm water. d. The Contractor shall provide all soil necessary to accomplish such grading and the site must be reseeded in accordance with the following specifications: Kentucky 31 or Turf Type Tall Fescue applied at 175-200 lbs. per acre or Common Bermuda grass applied at 75 lbs. per acre. 5. The property will be available for demolition immediately following the award of the contract. Once the demolition has commenced, the entire job shall be completed within 14 days of the Notice to Proceed. Period of Performance: Fourteen (14) days Upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed. If Hand Delivered, Deliver Directly to the Purchasing Division, Located on the 5th Floor of Chesapeake City Hall, Located at 306 Cedar Road. Chesapeake, Va. Please Note That Access to the 5th Floor of City Hall is Restricted, Please See the Information Desk on the 1st Floor for Access. Bidders' Should Plan Accordingly to Ensure Their Bid Arrives Prior to the Due Date and Time. Please Note, All Mail (USPS) is Sorted in the City's Mail Room Prior to Distribution. Important: Bidders Must Return the Entire RFQ When Submitting Their Quotation. Any Modifications to the Specifications of This Solicitation May Render the Submitted Quotation Non-responsive. The City reserves the right to remove sites from the Contractor's/Consultant's scope of work, by termination in whole or part, as applicable. The Contractor shall provide a lump sum to include all labor, tools, materials, supplies, services, equipment, permits, supervision, and incidentals necessary to complete the work described in the above scope. The City of Chesapeake will make the award on a lump sum basis to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The City reserves the right to conduct any test it may deem advisable and to make all evaluations. The City also reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to waive informalities and to delete items prior to making the award, whenever it is deemed in the sole opinion of the procuring public body to be in its best interest.
