In those instances where the water line must go to depths greater than 5 feet to miss existing or other utilities or storm sewers, it shall be the CONTRACTOR's responsibility to furnish pipe of proper strength where these situations arise. The requirements of Item 505 "Excavation and Backfill" shall govern the trenching for laying of pipe unless otherwise specified here.
