Payment Bond Requirement: If the successful bidder's bid exceeds $25,000, the successful bidder shall furnish a Payment Bond for not less than 100 percent (100%) of the total amount payable by the terms of this Agreement. The Payment Bond is due prior to the start date of work. No work may commence without receipt of a valid Payment Bond. The Payment Bond must be in effect at all times for the duration of the Agreement. If the Payment Bond expires during the term of the Agreement, a new Payment Bond must be provided to the Caltrans Contact Manager not less than 10 business days prior to its expiration. Failure to maintain a Payment Bond for the full term of this Agreement will be grounds for termination for default in addition to other legal remedies Caltrans may have. Inadequate or lack of a Payment Bond does not negate the Contractor's obligations under this Agreement. Bidder shall be properly licensed in accordance with the laws of the State of California and shall possess at the time of bid submittal and for the duration of the Agreement, a valid, current C-43 - Sheet Metal Contractor or C-61/D-24 - Metal Products Contractor issued by the Contractors State License Board (CSLB). Caltrans reserves the right to reject all price quotations for reasonable cause. A. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, travel, permits, equipment, and incidentals necessary to provide gutter and downspout removal and replacement services to the following buildings at the Santa Maria Maintenance Station: 1) Building #4 - Remove 150' gutter and two (2) downspouts; Install 300' new gutter and four (4) downspouts 2) Building #5 - Remove 50' gutter and one (1) downspout; Install 100' new gutter and two (2) downspouts 3) Building #6 - Remove 90' gutter and two (2) downspouts; Install 180' new gutter and four (4) downspouts 4) Building #7 - Remove 50' gutter and one (1) downspout; Install 100' new gutter and two (2) downspouts 5) Building #8 - Remove 90' gutter and one (1) downspout, Install 180' new gutter and two (2) downspouts B. Gutter and Downspout removal and Replacement 1) Contractor shall removal of old gutters and downspouts from buildings specified in paragraph A, above. 2) Contractor shall replace stifling brackets as needed behind gutters, 1/4 " x 1 1/4 " steel 3) Contractor shall haul off and dispose of all old materials in accordance with local and state laws. 4) Contractor shall install new 22-gauge (ga) gutter to match existing gutter, Standard Taylor Metals, or equivalent. 5) Contractor shall tie in gutter to gable ends of buildings 6) Contractor shall lap and notch gutter minimum of four inches (4") 7) Contractor shall slope gutters to downspouts 8) Contractor shall install end caps at gutter ends 9) Contractor shall install gutters true and uniform to industry standards 10) Contractor shall install 16-ga gutter brackets 24" on center 11) Contractor shall fasten all gutters at top of roof, match existing attachments and fasteners 12) Contractor shall install new 22 ga 4" x 4" downspouts/Standard Taylor Metals Color or equal 13) Contractor shall install drop tubes for downspouts 14) Contractor shall strap all downspouts at wall to match existing 15) New downspouts and gutters shall be white in color.
