Site work for a water / sewer project in Tinley Park, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
You are invited to bid on removal of three underground storage tanks (USTs) from the former Tinley Park Mental Health Center (TPMHC) and Howe Development Center (Site) closed in 2012. The scope of work will include removal of three USTs and associated work, including permitting, waste disposal, backfilling of the UST excavations. The SOW includes the following elements: (1) exposing the UST and system components, draining and aerating the USTs and removal of all UST system components; (2) removal and onsite relocation of metal canopy adjacent to UST dispensers in Maintenance Building area to expose dispensers and piping; (3) removal of liquids with offsite disposal; (4) scrapping and certified destruction of USTs; (5) removal of UST backfill if contaminated; (5) backfilling of excavation areas with virgin stone; and (6) scrapping of piping and UST system components. All work must be performed in full compliance with all applicable State, federal and local requirements and regulations. Prospective Bidders must purchase contract documents through Network Bids will not be accepted from any prospective bidder who has not purchased contract documents online. The Tinley Park-Park District Board of Park Commissioners reserves the right to waive all technicalities, to accept or reject any or all bids, to accept only portions of a proposal and reject the remainder without disclosure for any reason. Failure to make such a disclosure will not result in accrual of any right, claim or cause of action by any Bidder against the Tinley Park- Park District. The Tinley Park-Park District will award the Contract to the lowest most responsible and responsive Bidder, as determined by the Park District. After bid opening, no bids may be withdrawn and all bids shall remain firm for ninety (90) days. All bid proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond or bank cashier's check payable to the Tinley Park-Park District for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid as provided in the Instructions to Bidders. No proposals or bids will be considered unless accompanied by such bond or check. The Contractor selected will also be required to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and executive orders including but not limited to those pertaining to equal employment opportunity. Workers Compensation and Occupational Disease Insurance, in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, or any other applicable jurisdiction, covering all employees and Employer's Liability coverage with limits of not less than $250,000 each accident or illness; b) Commercial Liability Insurance. (Primary and Umbrella). Commercial Liability Insurance or equivalent with limits of not less than $5,000,000 per occurrence, combined single limit, for bodily injury, personal injury, and property damage liability. Additional coverage extensions to be evidenced shall include the following: All premises and operations, products/completed operations. The State of Illinois, its employees, elected officials, agents, and representatives are to be named as additional insureds on a primary, non-contributory basis for any liability arising directly or indirectly from the activities on the Property; c) Automobile Liability Insurance. (Primary and Umbrella). shall Provide Comprehensive Automobile Liability Insurance with limits of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence, combined single limit, for bodily injury and property damage when any motor vehicles (owned, non-owned and hired) are used in connection with work to be performed. Pre-Bid Insurance requirements differ slightly from insurance requirements necessary to successful bidder. See "Insurance" in the Instructions to Bidders section for further details. Completion Date: March 1, 2024 Event Pre-bid description: Contractor will also be required to supply and install to the Tinley Park-Park District a Certificate of Insurance naming the State of Illinois and Central Management Service as an additional insured. Certificate of Insurance is to also name the Tinley Park-Park District as additional insured. COI is to be submitted to ryan.veldman@tinleyparkdistrict.org on or before 1PM Thursday January 4th. Companies who have not submitted correct insurance requirements before this deadline will not be able to access the site to attend this mandatory pre-bid meeting and will be disqualified from the bid. Pre-Bid COI requirements and amounts include: a) Workers Compensation and Occupational Disease Insurance.
