Site work for a water / sewer project in Rock Island, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The 18th Avenue pump station is in need of replacement. This station pumps stormwater during rain events when the gatewell is closed due to the Mississippi River being in flood stage. The pump has been rebuilt over the years but now needs to be replaced and upgraded with current controls and remote monitoring. The City received $500,000 dollars of Federal grant funds to assist with funding this project. As of January 9, 2024, this project is included in the city’s 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Construction scheduled for FY2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
