The project is referred to as "Nebraska City Southeast Tree Removal" and includes approximately 4.4 miles of right of way requiring tree and brush removal. The project site is located on either side of Road K, beginning at the intersection of Highway 75, and continuing east for approximately 4.4 miles to the entrance of the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) Plant, in Otoe County, Nebraska. The project shall include all labor, materials, transportation, and equipment required for tree and brush removal, and other related incidental work Along with its Bid Proposal, each bidder shall submit an unconditional Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the Otoe County Treasurer, Otoe County, Nebraska, in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the total Bid Proposal. Also, each bidder is to provide a Start of Construction date and End of Construction date with its Bid Proposal. The required completion date is March 31, 2024. The successful bidder, (i.e. Contractor) will be required to submit a construction schedule. Within ten (10) days following the award of the Contract, the successful bidder shall furnish a surety bond or bonds in an amount equal to or greater than the full amount of the contract. The surety and form of the bonds are subject to acceptance by the Otoe County Board of Commissioners. Otoe County, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Dept of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally assisted programs of the Dept of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, sex, age and disability/handicap in consideration for award.
