The work to be performed consists of removal and replacement of concrete pavement, water and sewer main in Palm Avenue from Whittier Blvd. to Beverly Blvd., and appurtenant work, in accordance with the project plans as specified hereinafter, project specifications as specified hereinafter for the Whittier Utility Authority, Los Angeles County, State of California, and in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (The Greenbook), 2021 Edition. Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, tools, materials, appliances, and equipment to complete the project and be responsible for obtaining a no fee excavation permit(s) for the project from the City of Whittier, Public Works Department. Engineers Estimate: $9,800,000 The Contractor shall commence ordering all necessary materials within ten (10) calendar days after notification that the contract has been executed and shall be completed within two hundred and ten (210) working days after the date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. The contractor shall possess a Class A (General Contractor) in accordance with the provisions of the Contractor's License Law (California Business and Professions Code, Section 7000,et. seq.) and rules and regulations adopted pursuant thereto at the time this contract is awarded. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 1770 to 1777, inclusive, of the Labor Code of the State of California, copies of the prevailing rate of per diem wages are on file in the office of the Secretary-Treasurer of the Whittier Utility Authority, 13230 Penn Street, Whittier, California 90602. Whittier Utility Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any portion of any bid, to waive any informality in a bid, and to make awards in the best interest of the City.
