Questions Due Tuesday, January 16, 2024, 12 noon State Responses to Questions Friday, January 19, 2024, 3pm The Energy Commission seeks input and comments from commercial software vendors on the development of Energy Commission's Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure Project Tracker software tool. The construction and installation of EV charging stations requires the progression of complex tasks and engagements of several parties including the site host, developer, construction team, engineering team, local jurisdiction with permitting authority, supply procurement, and the local electric utility providing electrical service including investor-owned utilities and publicly-owned utilities This EV Infrastructure Project Tracker is intended to consist of a database and online dashboard that collects and tracks the progress of EV infrastructure projects from start to finish to create transparency and help state agencies and stakeholders better understand how long it takes to complete an EV charging project and identify bottlenecks. The EV Infrastructure Project Tracker will include project permitting and construction statistics from EV charging projects funded by the Energy Commission. Grant recipients may be required to report relevant data as a grant requirement for future Clean Transportation Program solicitations. The EV Infrastructure Project Tracker may consist of: o A data portal or dashboard that allows recipients of EV infrastructure grant funding to seamlessly report EV charging station permitting, construction, electric distribution utility steps, and project milestone timeline data to the Energy Commission in an automated fashion. Data fields may include but are not limited to milestone dates, costs, equipment lists, and comments with the option to upload supporting documentation. o A relational database to allow Energy Commission staff to store data to ensure easy accessibility and analyze timeline data. This database will need to be integrated with the Energy Commission's Fuels and Transportation Division's central SQL database and should automatically link different data fields submitted by different stakeholders regarding the same EV charging site. This database should be Salesforce, AWS and/or Snowflake compatible. o An internal web dashboard that allows the Energy Commission to review timeline information, and a separate external web dashboard that allows the Energy Commission to report summary timeline statistics to the public, which may include the permitting and construction status of individual EV charging stations that are under development as well as steps, interactions, and timelines with electric distribution utilities throughout California
