Renovation of a mixed-use development in Huffman, Texas. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The current Hargrave High School gym opened in 2001 and was not built with spectator bleacher seating, restrooms, concession facilities or ADA accessibility. Due to fire code restrictions, the current gym cannot accommodate all the students at one time for pep rallies and assemblies. Today the high school and middle school have approximately 2,050 students and the three gym courts are currently being used by as many as 14 middle and high school PE classes, athletic teams, and fine arts programs every month. Current training room has two treatment tables to serve an average of 10-15 students each morning needing assistance. This bond adds space for more treatment tables, and additional locker room space. It includes dedicated storage and dressing rooms for student athletic trainers and adds space to add more students in HISD’s growing Sports Medicine Program. This project is part of the school district’s bond that was approved by voters. As of January 30, 2026, information regarding architect, construction manager, and general contractor has not been released. Further details regarding design and construction timelines have not been released.
