Renovation of a mixed-use development in Johns Island, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of an educational facility.
The project involves the renovation of the existing baseball and softball fields. The scope of work includes new LED sports lighting, scoreboards, dugouts, bullpens, and batting cages. The field renovation includes undercutting and removal of existing unsuitable soils, replacement with new suitable soil, natural turf, and clay for the infields. A limited number of asphalt parking spaces are proposed along the existing roadway. New concrete hardscape and landscape plantings are proposed in the plaza area between the fields. The scope of work also includes site upgrades to address storm water management and the enlargement of an existing pond on site. This will include selective tree clearing, ditch grading, and installation of new stormwater pipe and structures. As of March 1, 2024, this project has been awarded a general contractor. Construction is expected to begin in March 2024.
